This cheat does not work on games with the upgrade patch.
To get loads of money...
Buy a passenger seat and take a passenger (preferably one who does not want to go far). Now try to buy a ship which is less expensive than yours. Each time you click on buy, your cash will increase by the difference between the two ships.
However, in order to buy another ship you must first take the passenger to their destination.
